Briefly, psychosis is an abnormal state of thought characterized by one or several of the following symptoms: hallucinations (auditory–hearing,  visual–seeing, tactile–feeling, olfactory–false perceptions of odors, gustatory–false perceptions of tastes); paranoia; delusions–such as jealousy or persons have been replaced by impostors; social withdrawal/isolation, disorganized/bizarre speech–“word salad”; impairment of self-care;  loss of motivation.  Cannabis is a cause of psychosis.
